What It Is

To increase faculty diversity, the Psychology Department participated in the Future Faculty Program in 2016 and 2017, making faculty job offers to our participants each year.

The program aims to develop meaningful relationships with doctoral candidates and post-doctoral scholars that are traditionally underrepresented in their fields in the hopes of having them join our team.

Application Process

Potential applicants must be a graduate student or post-doctoral scholar within one year of potentially joining the team.

Virginia Tech faculty can nominate a candidate for the program by sending the nominee’s name, current institution, email address, and a short reason why the individual should be accepted to the program to FutureFaculty@vt.edu.

Applications and inquiries about the program should be sent to FutureFaculty@vt.edu.

For more information about this program, please see the Virginia Tech Provost’s webpage: https://www.provost.vt.edu/faculty_affairs/faculty_recruitment/future_faculty.html.
